Vocabulary is a power. It takes a long time to develop and no short term solution is possible. Now a days for students of FSC it has gained even more importance as about 20 marks of vocabulary are there in the entry test exams paper and most of the students loose these marks.
Great writers and speakers are empowered with more and words they command and communicate using the most appropriate and the suitable time, situation and circumstances. Words are the currency of communication and written work. A robust and vast vocabulary improves all areas of communication — listening, speaking, reading and writing. When children and young people improve their vocabulary, their academic and social confidence and competence improve, too.
Understanding improve when you know what the meanings of the words which you are reading or writing. Since comprehension is the final goal of reading and writing, you cannot allow too much for the significance of vocabulary development. If you understand and know a large number of words, your speaking and writing power will be multiplied. If you understand the true meanings of a word, its use will be most appropriate according to timing and situation and it will earn you much of acclaim.
