1.    Order of reactivity of alcohol when C-O bond breaks is primary alcohol > secondary alcohol >Tertiary alcohol.


2.    During reaction of Grignard reagent with alcohol an alkane is formed.


3.    Tertiary alcohols in the presence of acid dichromate undergo elimination.


4. When alcohol is heated with conc. H2SO4 at 180oC, Ethene is formed.


5.    Secondary alcohol on oxidation with acid dichromate gives carboxylic acid.


6.    Ethyl alcohol is used as antifreeze in the radiators of automobiles.


7.    Methanol gives iodoform test.
